Dia De Los Muertos Stained Glass Panel - 10" x 14.25"
Dia De Los Muertos stained glass panel. 10" tall by 14.25" wide. This work features a total of 107 pieces and is constructed in the copper foil method. The piece is finished with a lead frame and the solder line and frame are treated with a black patina to give the piece a slightly rustic, antiqued look.
The piece evokes the charm and pageantry of the 3,500 year old Dia De Los Muertos traditional festival that evolved from Aztec Tradition in Mexico that honors the dead. During the festival that occurs November 1st and 2nd each year, people wear wooden skull masks called calacas and dance in honor of their deceased relatives. The wooden skulls are also placed on altars that are dedicated to the dead. Sugar skulls, made with the names of the dead person on the forehead, are eaten by a relative or friend.

OM Symbol Stained Glass Panel - 15" x 15"
15" square stained glass panel featuring the symbol for OM. The symbol is crafted out of flat black glass with an iridescent multi-colored coating. The glass surrounding the symbol is a translucent antique white glass that offsets the symbol pattern very nicely. All of the colors used are soft and relaxing and look great when exposed to natural sunlight. The solder lines and frame are finished with a bronze patina that creates an aged look that I feel works really well with this piece. Also, to clarify, the symbol is self has an iridescent coating that makes it look multi colored which doesn't come through in my pictures.
According to Wikipedia,OM (AUM), or the Sanskrit Pranava, is a sacred/mystical syllable in the Dharma or Indian religions, i.e. Sanatan Dharma, Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism. The vibration of "AUM" symbolizes the manifestation of God in form ("sāguna brahman"). "AUM" is the reflection of the absolute reality, it is said to be "Adi Anadi", without beginning or end and embracing all that exists
